Christmas Day

We spent Christmas day at home - had dinner here for my in-laws - lovely day but very busy! Boxing Day was spent just the way I like it - in my pj's - just relaxing with the kids and hubby all day.

O.K. It was obvious to me that "The Donald" had something up his sleeve for last night's conclusion to The Apprentice. I had a feeling he wanted to hire BOTH Rebecca and Randall - and he WOULD HAVE had Randall not dissed Rebecca at the end of the show! I don't understand why the guy wouldn't give her a good recommendation AFTER he won. "This is The Apprentice - not The Apprenti..." Gimme a break! She could have gotten a job out of this - A job - not HIS job! Randall's two-year-old-type knee-jerk reply "This is mine - all mine!" just left me feeling Rebecca deserved to win more.

The Blessing of Friends

There are five of us – we are best friends. We are who we are because of each other. Four of us have known each other since we were 5 years old, which now is 31 years of friendship! Katherine, the introspect, Karen, the romantic analyzer, Janet, common sense with a tender heart, Heather, the adult wit and me - Joy, the realist. Women who are laugh-out-loud comical, tell-it-like-it-is honest, call-me-day-or-night supportive and snap-out-of-it realistic. We know everything about each other – every bodily dysfunction, grotesque gush and protrusion of pregnancy. We know every heartache, every wound, every joy. When one of us is down the others swoop in and help care, nurture and patiently restore. We are women, we are friends, we are family, we are sisters. We are unique and we compliment each other. We are individuals and we are one. We function seperately and we are an entity. When we bitch, there's an ear. When we cry there's a shoulder. When we laugh there's an echo. While not related we share the blood of being women, the sweat of making our way, and the tears of being mothers and daughters...all that, together with the odd bottle of wine and I give you my sisters, my friends.

Such a Lady!

Opening Our Hearts

Well, we've adopted a 6 year old Portuguese Water Dog (they're hypo-allergenic for my allergic husband) Her name is Matilda which we will shorten to Mattie as time goes by. It has been a BIG adjustment period for her - she's extremely nervous but is learning the routine well. She loves to run and loves to swim too (not for a while here though) I am nervous too - don't want to get my heart broken again. She is not agressive at all though and just loves the kids. She has the sweetest face and brown eyes to match her shaggy coat. She's a doll!

Sunday afternoon

Ellie to Jack over her hot chocolate - and his apparent distaste for it lately:

"Jack, what happened to your relationship with hot chocolate?..."

She really IS a 60 year old woman trapped in a 7 year old body... :)

Shout Out to Jackie!

This is for Jackie - my dear, sweet sister-in-law - really more like a sister. I posted the pic of the puppies because that's her FAV thing in the world. I just wanted to say how PROUD I am of you. You are a such a strong girl and look how far you've come. We will always be here for you no matter what! We love you and God Bless you this coming week. xoxoxo

The *reason for the season...

I got this picture from the net - it is actually someone's Christmas lights - how brilliant! So I hear now the big debate is whether or not to call a Christmas tree a Christmas tree - now they want to be politically correct and call it a HOLIDAY tree! I'm sorry, is it just me or has the world gone completely mad? We are turning into such a GENERIC society- so afraid to offend others while in turn we slowly give up our own indentities. GIMME A BREAK!

It's That Time of Year
