This Dog is Getting on my Nerves

Yes, this dog. Wilbur.

This sweet, cute, adorable dog.

Well, sweet, cute and adorable when he wants to be.

This week has been a rather bad week for Wilbur. And I know Mr. Cesar Milan, that is is probably all MY FAULT that my dog is acting up, but whatever.

Where do I begin...well, on Sunday I ran over to my mom-in-law's for a quick visit. (she lives on the street right behind me) I knew I wasn't going to be gone long so I left the t.v. on and all that jazz. The kids and I had just has some veggies and dip and I left in out on the kitchen island, and might I add - not near the edge. I think you know what happened next...

Yes, Wilbur helped himself to some roughage - carrots, celery, green peppers and cucumber - and washed it down with a bowl of creamy dill dip. Who knew he was a vegetarian? And somehow he never managed to break the dishes, they magically stayed put.

Oh well, so he had some veggies and dip. No big deal, right? Well, you should have seen the mess on the floor that I woke up to on Monday morning (and no, thankfully, I didn't step in it) It was large - and green AND THE SMELL... 'Nuff said?

This dog knows when he's done bad. Take for instance his two looks...

And his "Oh no, I think they're on to me"...

It's all in the eyes.

This morning while I was on the computer Wilbur decided to help himself to the leftover chicken noodle soup that I had made for the kids' lunches. He jumped up to the counter and was having a good 'ol time when I finally heard him clacking some dishes around. Busted! Momma was not happy. Here Wilbur was gulping up the soup like it was his only meal in weeks. (the dog eats twice a day with lots of snacks...) Like an addict, he knew what he was doing wrong but just couldn't help himself. He tried to make it up with a remorseful face but knowing I will be cleaning up lots of noodles today - in a way that I can assure you WON'T be pretty - cancelled that out.

I may never eat chicken noodle soup again!

STILL love my, love, LOVE! And after having worked so many years in animal hospitals, trust me, you will SOOOOO get over your chicken noodle worries. Yes, of course I don't run home to chow down on pasta after having had several poochies in with worms (Hmmm, I'm hearing a collective ICK, GROSS, UGH, from your blog readers ;))...might stay away from it for a bit, but the tummy always wins out. :)

And I have to say that Rudy and Wilbur definitely share the ability to work those eyes and those faces to get exactly what they want: usually forgiveness! ;)

Awwww, Joy, I'm so sorry, but can't help laughing at Wilbur's antics. Try not to be too mad at him, I mean, look at that face. I totally know what you mean about 2 looks. My sweet dog had those expressions too. So funny how you can look at them & see it immediately.

That was a hilarious story. If only Wilbur could keep it all down, then it wouldn't be so bad, huh?!

Oh Joy. No wonder you are annoyed with Wilbur. Mind you he is clever to not have broken any dishes.
He looks soooo.... cute!!!
They do say looks can be deceiving!
Now that you have cleaned up ALL THE YUCKY STUFF I am sure you love him again.

Joy, that bad bad dog face is just SO funny, you have caught it perfectly with that photo. OUr dog would do the same thing but she is vertically challenged so wouldnt be able to reach the bench anyway (fortunatly!!)

Joy- I think they get a wild hair.
Our golden Coop he has days like that. I know he has when I walk in the door and my dog is smiling at me, yes he smiles. He dashes for his corner and puts his head down. One day I swear he ate a whole pizza off the oven top. Or there is the time he ate Griffin's
ball glove. Let me tell you how bad that smelled. Have a good one

It was probably the dressing. Taz eats veggies all the time. In fact, you can't have raw veggies without sharing them with him.

Poor Wilbur is probably just trying to tear you away from your treasures! LOL!

Awwww, I know he was bad but....look at those eyes. An addict has a disease honey. He can't help himself or put himself into rehab. Cut the poor puppy some slack. And give him a big old hug from me!

Hi Joy,

Who could ever stay angry at a face like that? We used to have a poodle named Cocoa that would eat the blinds, yes blinds, that covered the windows.

By the way, please visit my blog..I'm having a Holiday Decorating Contest on my website!

I am absolutely ROLLING on the floor with tears in my eyes laughing at Wilbur. Could he be any funnier!? I've been there so I think this is why it is especially funny to me. Those pictures are a riot!

I've got to go get a kleenex, I cannot stop laughing.

I had to come back and read this with my seven year old son who loves dog humor. He laughed so hard he got the hiccups!

Wilbur is so cute! My happy, clueless dog got into Halloween candy, and I, too, found a surprise on the floor ... chocolate, hard candies, wrappers and all else I won't mention. Cute sure doesn't make up for that, at least for a little while anyway.

This is the best post I've ever read!! This is so like our mutt Jack. OK we adopted him from the far as he's concerned he agreed to come home with us. One of the MOST embarrassing times was when I invited some friends to lunch (not dog people). I had a great table set with wonderful food. As we rounded the corner to the kitchen I thought to myself..where is that blasted Jackie? He was hanging from the table eating the food! I was so embarrassed..all I could say is I guess you don't want any of this. Good thing these critters are so darn cute. Wilbur's a cutie.

I love it!! I could have SO written that post! Our dog Cinnamon also has two faces. She also has anger management issues! When she is left home alone she grabs something of mine and chews. Only mine! I know immediately there's a problem when she meets me at the door with her head down and tail tucked between her legs. And of course the face! I so relate, glad I found your blog!

Wilbur is adorable....:-) I had a friend who baked a rum cake. Left it on the counter to go outside and help shuffle some cars around on the driveway for about 5 mintues. Came back in and the entire rum cake was gone...yep, they had a golden retriever and he "retrieved" the cake :-)
