Back in Business!

Sort of....

My f.i.l was kind enough to lend me his camera battery charger because it's the same one that I have. Thanks Ernie! (still can't find mine...)

I have such a penchant for old ephemera, I really do. It might even be a sickness. My passion is finding old store stock and I was thrilled when I found a huge batch of these old tags a few weeks ago...

Aren't they sweet? Old price tags for Mother's and Father's Day!

They just don't make them like this anymore...

They'll be going in my shop, cuz I like to share. That's just the kinda girl I am... ;)

So like I was saying, Janet and I had a great trip to Toronto. The drive was actually fun because we talked non-stop and were never interrupted by kids or husbands(!) We came to a conclusion why women thoroughly enjoy driving with other women.

#1) Women NEVER drive on empty just to see how far they can actually get (even a 1/4 of a tank makes me nervous on a large highway)

#2) Women NEVER hesitate to ask for directions, they actually enjoy it. It's a great excuse to get out of the car and stretch your legs...

and finally...

#3) Women NEVER see how far they can drive with dirt or rain on their windshield. Men seem to enjoy that, a "let's-see-how-far-I-can drive-without-using my-wipers" kinda deal. What's with that???

Those tags are great. Love em. I made one of your wheel thingies and put it in my booth (re-did it for non holidays) It sold in just a couple of days. Now I've got to make another. Thanks for the great idea.

my hubby uses so much washer fluid, we have to buy it by the case! It's really annoying.

Yes, women do travel better together! Murphy and I can go anywhere and be totally in sync. Hub and I? Not so much.

I beg to differ: I once took a month off work (I'd had a very bad car accident, and felt like life was passing me by), flew out West from home in DC, rented a car and drove around CA/NV/AZ/NM for an entire month and NEVER washed the rental car so I could see how dirty it got. I screamed at a gas station attendant who surreptitiously washed all my windows while I was in the bathroom!

I don't normally do that, but that time, it was symbolic.

Then again, my car is currently FILTHY. XOX

I agree with all of your driving items! I start to get nervous when the tank goes just under half! The tags are lovely and sweet. I love the old ephemera too. It really warms your heart.

Definately! I keep my tank over 1/4 (closer to a half) and my husband thinks it is silly!

Hi Joy,
Wow you hit the jackpot with the tags!
I'm laughing about your 'women driving' points, it seems that it is the same the world over. I was nodding my head at each one, especially the one about the dirt on the windshield!!!

I've missed you Joy and I'm slowly making my rounds now that I'm up and running again. The tags are adorable and I'm sure that you and Janet had a ball in that car...just the 2 of you!

Love,
Julie

Joy, I'm laughing so much about guys and driving - so true! My dh annoys me by driving on empty - ruined my trip across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge once because I was terrified we'd come to a standstill in the middle of the ocean!!!! Glad you had a great girlie time in Toronto - neat tags.

I linked to your shop again on my post yesterday as I used your shredded music packing bits in a vintage jar - it's so neat. How do you shred paper into long, wide bits like that? Do you have a special shredder?

Off to pick up my dh from the airport - chilly so will wear my scarf from you, I do enjoy it.
Hapy weekend.

How funny is this post!! I NEVER drive with my husband - I follow him in my own car before I drive with him. He seems to think listening to "Sweet Home Alabama" while driving 80 miles an hour in the Snow is a "fun time"....He's 40 going on 16.
The tags are so cute and you are right - they just don't make them like that anymore! Even the illustrated Doggie is a different style than right now. SO Cute and Vintage!!!

That is SO true...especially #3! I can't believe how many times I ask Farmboy, how could he possibly SEE? It's pouring out, and he has them wiping every 5 seconds!!!

We put the books together today, and tonight, it took 12 hours!! They are so beautiful. I'll have yours in the mail Sat. or Mon.
