One Blinged Out Bird Cage!

It's time!
Time for Karla and Beth's Bling Your Birdhouse Party!

Last Tuesday I was in a rush to get somewhere and wondered if I actually had the time to sneak into one of my fav thrift stores. As I pondered, I felt my truck veering into that direction, almost willing me there. I walked in, browsed around and then suddenly, I saw it....

Oh my. An antique bird cage in the most fab shade of cream. And huge! My heart raced as I walked over hoping there wouldn't be a "sold" sign marked on it. There wasn't....

You could not wipe the smile off of my face. People commented on the lovely cage as I walked to the cash, one asking "What are you going to do with it?" My simple answer - "Decorate!"

Best of all, I knew I would blog about it for Karla and Beth's birdhouse party (they said bird cages were o.k. as well) and I wouldn't really have to do a thing to it. ;)

I am now debating whether to keep it or sell it. We are renovating and I don't know if I have a place for it....I'm really worried if I keep it that I'll end up getting a real bird!

For now, this vintage bird is diggin' her new place...

A special thanks to Karla and Beth for hosting another fun party - these girls are the best hostesses, aren't they? :)

Hi Joy!

Gorgeous bird cage! Puts the one I just found to shame. Maybe mine is it's ugly stepsister. ha ha Anyway, I'm glad you found my blog through Heather's. I actually bought a few things off your website last Christmas. You were kind enough to sell me some of your blank milk caps. Remember me? I have been reading your blog for some time now and now I'm glad you found mine. Hope you come back!

Joy, Your birdhouse is amazing. You just have to find a spot for it. The little blinged bird looks right at home.

that would be a hard one to sell! I don't mean no buyers, I mean hard to give up. I certainly would want to keep it myself. I bought a big bird cage to sell years ago and it is still sitting in front of my studio as a planter.

thanks for coming to our birdie party!

I know what you mean about your truck seeming to just "take" you to the thrift store, like it has ESP about where you need to be- your truck sure was right on this one- wow what a great birdcage- flowers in it in the summer, Christmas ornaments in the winter, Easter eggs in the spring.

That is amazing! I have never seen a bird cage that big. Bling your bird house has more variety then I could of imagined. These crafters are so wonderful!

I agree with Jessi. And I have experience. Having multiple birdcages (yes also the blinged one) myself and no living bird at all!! Just keep this cage!
Hope to see you at my place too!

Love that bird cage....just don't get any finches they squeeze through the cracks and wind up in weird places.....like in a cats paw. This is based on experience LOL Grab an extra cup of coffee and pop by my blog when you can.
