For the Love of Bloggers

It's hard to explain to a non-blogger...the love you get from bloggers. The people you meet in blogland that you've never met face-to-face but yet you know. My husband doesn't understand it when I say "...my friend from the internet.." His standard reply goes something like "Well, they're not reeeaaaally your friend...." My defiant response - with hands placed on hips - "Ummm, YES, THEY ARE! "

Sometimes you bloggers know more about what's going on in my life than the people who are actually physically present in my life. The love and connected-ness (I just made that word up) I feel is extraordinary. You share with me my ups and downs and in turn, open that window for me to see into yours. What a gift.

Whenever I have time, I catch up on my blog reading. I don't always leave a comment but rest assured I am there. I think we are all like that to some degree. Take for instance when a fellow blogger is having a hard time or asks for a prayer....watch the comment section and you will see a sudden mass of them. We swoop in when we are needed - and happy to do so. It is a community filled with people who have the ability to connect without the benefit of a hug, or a familiar voice or sometimes even a face. It is a connection that cannot be defined by physicality. It is much deeper than that.

Thank-you for being a friend!

Joy~
You captured the "joy" we all feel in the blogging world so eloquently! I feel exactly the same way. When my family or friends hear me speaking of my blogging family/friends...they always say "oh! your cyber friends"...hmmmm! they just don't get it...loved your take on it...I think I'm going to copy that and show it to my family/friends. Sadly, they just don't know what they are missing!

Blessings..

You said it so well. I know my family doesn't understand my connection with my bloggy friends, but at least they don't seem to mind too much!!

I agree, Joy! So true, I feel like I have made SO many new friends all over blogland too. It is a blessing. And I'm the same way...I come & visit & don't always leave a comment.

Oh Joy, What a wonderful post. How SWEET!! Yep -- we're always "out there" reading the blogs, stayed up-to-date on it all, but not always leaving comments. But, as you said, let a request for help or prayer be asked for, and like a group of otherwise invisible ninjas or secret service agents -- there we are! Very cool, indeed.
Thanks for the bright, cheerful post -- just so nice! BTW, I just let a post about my alligator-spotting last night! I TOLD you I had one!! :)

I feel I know more about my cyber friends than my OBF'S(oxygen breathing friends). My cyber friends are also quicker to check in on me than my OBF'S if I seem to drop off the planet.

There are people I have been talking to for over 5 years and probably will never meet in person, but I still feel connected and miss them when they don't post.

Your sentiments should be on a Hallmark card. It's as if you have a window to our souls and were able to write it as the rest of us think it.

Oh what does your husband know anyway? I have met some of my best "REAL" life friends on blogs/ the internet. I have flown and visited places I never would have and I have had friends visit me. Blogs are a wonderful tool for finding REAL friends and relationships. People who aren't online don't get it I guess...

You are so right! It is hard to believe how close I feel to some of my blogger friends, people I may never meet in person but who follow my life more closely than my own mother! They are a constant source of support and joy:>)

I'll echo everyone else & say I have to agree... I've not been blogging a full year yet I have my regular commenters, people I email privately and those i think of when I see something in a shop.

My parents laugh cos i call my blogfriends "ladies I talk to on the computer"!

I am relatively new to blogging and yet I already know that what you've "said" here is so true. There is most certainly a "connected-ness" (love that) among bloggers! Thanks for bringing a lil' bit of joy to blogland:)

This is exactly how I feel, and I too have a DH who doesn't understand friends from blogland. That is fine though, it is my world to enjoy.
Just found you through Amber Dawn. Lovely blog. I'll be visiting again.
